How do we begin to understand the causes of all that arises in the world–all that arises in our experience?
We begin to consider how our thoughts and actions create our world, and understanding develops. A glimmer of hope arises.
Then once again we get caught in craving, anger, or dullness, and kick into motion the gears of the wheel of dependent co-arising. We get stressed: We don’t get what we want, don’t want what we have, we want something or someone badly; we don’t want things to change, or we want our difficult situation to end. Around and around we go.
Seeing things as they are is a powerful first step. This is the wheel of life; this teaching shows us how we get caught.
